Transportation Services

About Us

The staff of Transportation Services is dedicated to provide convenient commuting options and cost-effective services for our students and employees, in support of achieving the educational goals of Seattle Central Community College. We are committed to improving our services to meet the transportation needs of our students and employees, by continuously evaluating/exploring innovative ideas and methods of commuting.

We are responsible for implementing, promoting, and managing SCCC Transportation Management Plan to our students and employees. The Transportation Management Plan (TMP), at Seattle Central Community College, offers many different ways for students and employees to get to and from campus. A variety of transportation benefits is available to students and employees at the college, including the GoPass (subsidized Metro pass) and carpool. Seattle Central Community College encourages all students and employees to utilize alternative methods of transportation, other than driving alone, to reduce traffic congestion, to decrease fuel consumption, and to improve air quality.

While Seattle Central Community College main campus is located in a dynamic and vibrant urban environment, our parking facilities are very limited. There are altogether only 600 parking spaces for all students and employees. Our campus, however, is well served by excellent bus service, due its proximity to downtown Seattle. In addition, the exciting Capitol Hill neighborhood with countless restaurants and shops, our campus offers an attractive destination for walkers and bike riders alike.

Transportation Services is a self-supporting program within the Auxiliary Services Division at Seattle Central Community College. Our services include the operation of parking, the administration of the alternative commuting program (bus pass, carpool, etc.), and management of the motor pool. On an annual basis, we sell and distribute over 5,000 bus passes and 3,500 parking permits to students and employees. In addition to serving our students and employees, our parking garage also serves over 70,000 paying customers a year, primarily during the evening and weekend hours.
