New Student Orientation and Testing

Students who are admitted to Seattle Central Community College receive detailed information on orientation and testing in their acceptance packets. However, the following provides some general guidelines.

*SCIE Orientation & Registration lasts for four days, and is held Monday through Thursday during the week before the quarter begins.

**College / College Bridge Orientation is a one - day orientation, and is held two Thursdays before the quarter start date.

*SCIE classes begin a week later than college classes in Winter quarter.
SCIE Orientation/Registration begins on Jan. 2
(or later date if the 2nd falls on a weekend or is a school holiday) and lasts three days.

**College / College Bridge Orientation is held in mid-December.

   *SCIE Orientation is for those who:
   a) have not provided proof of English proficiency OR
   b) have not provided proof of English proficiency high enough to take
   the College English Placement Exam

   **College / College Bridge Orientation is for those who:
   a) qualify for direct placement into one of the following programs: College Bridge;
   College Transfer; Workforce Education; FAST TRACK; or Short Term Certificate OR
   b)have provided proof of English proficiency high enough to take the College English    Placement Exam.
