In a former life I was a musicologist. I once did opera preview lectures and have continued as a booster for Seattle Opera. I still sing both classical and scandinavian folkmusic. As a member of Skandia Folkdance Society I have participated in events, served as board and committee member, as dancer, ...and my husband fiddles for dances and classes (right-left-together, right-left-together).

As a librarian and a library activist, I support Seattle Public Library programs and causes, the Friends of Seattle Public Library and the Seattle Public Library Foundation. Since I graduated from the University of Washington's Information School, I have been a member of the Alumni Association and acted as mentor to many Information School students.

And that's not all.... See what's happening at the Seattle Public Library's Center for the Book! This year, Seattle Central Reads joins forces with Seattle Reads to explore When the Emperor Was Divine by Julie Otsuka (Anchor Books, 2003).
