ACC 210 (5 credits) Financial Acct. Fundamentals I
Basic accounting concepts, principles and procedures for recording business transactions and developing financial accounting reports. Recommended: ACC 110 or Sophomore standing.

BUS 101 (5 credits) Intro. to Business
Survey of American business: Business and economic terminology, forms of business ownership, management concepts, marketing, financing. Also covers small businesses, franchising, international business.

EDU 272 (5 credits) Integrating ESL in the Mainstream Classroom
Specifically designed for the teacher who has bilingual and monolingual students in the same class. An overview of current theories of language acquisition, with focus on practical instructional strategies; issues related to placement, testing, mainstreaming, and effective needs of students.

ENG 101 (5 credits) Composition
Intro to the writing process. Writing assignments with focus on major strategies of non-fiction prose, with subject matter drawn from firsthand experience and observation. Prereq: Satisfactory performance on English placement test.

ENG 102 (5 credits) Composition
Continuation of the composition sequence with further instruction and practice in writing, and with concentration on the critical reading and writing techniques needs for the preparation and completion documented essays. Prereq: ENG 101.

FRE 101 (5 credits) Elementary French
Pronunciation, fundamentals of grammar and syntax, oral and written exercises, reading and conversations and cultural aspects of the countries in which French is spoken. Oral practice with tapes required outside of class. Intended for students with no previous French studies. Prereq: Recommended eligibility for ENG 101.

GER 101 (5 credits) Elementary German
Covers pronunciation, fundamentals of grammar and syntax, oral and written exercises, reading and conversations and cultural aspects of the countries in which German is spoken. Oral practice with tapes required outside of class. Intended for students with no previous German studies. Prereq: Recommended eligibility for ENG 101.

JPN 101 (5 credits) Elementary Japanese
Introduction to Japanese conversation, grammar, culture, and the Japanese hiragana and katakana writing systems. Intended for students who have not previously studied Japanese. Prereq: Recommended eligibility for ENG 101.

LAN 101 (5 credits) Introduction to Linguistics
This course looks at language as fundamental to human beings and human culture. It examines the complexity of language through phonological, grammatical and discourse , and explores the diversity of language use through its socio/psychological dimensions.

MAT O98 (5 credits) Intermediate Algebra
Sets and the real number system, polynomial and rational expressions, exponents and radicals, word problems, systems of linear equations, graphs. Prereq: One year of high school algebra and placement exam, or MAT 080 D, MAT 085 with 2.0 or better or placement exam or MAT 097.

MIC 101 (4 credits) Intro to Microcomputers Applications
Microcomputer hardware and software concepts, spreadsheets simple financial models, computerized mailing lists, word processing and control of disk storage.

MIC 150 (4 credits) Internet -The Information Labyrinth
Hands-on introduction to the global information network, providing students with experience using the various accessing tools such as Mosiac, Gopher, FTP, Telnet, Veronica, Jughead, E-mail, etc. Focus on utilizing these tools to find valuable and useful information amid the variety of data available.

SPAN 101 (5 credits) Elementary Spanish
Pronunciation, fundamentals of grammar and syntax, oral and written exercises, reading and conversation, and cultural aspects of the countries in which Spanish is spoken. Oral practice with tapes required outside of class. For students who have not previously studied Spanish. Prereq: Recommended eligibility for ENG 101.

SPA 102 (5 credits) Elementary Spanish
Continuation of SPA 101. Prereq: SPA 101 or permission.

SPA 103 (5 credits) Elementary Spanish
Continuation of 102. Prereq: SPA 102 or permission.
