Apply and Enroll for ESL, ABE, GED
The following is an overview of our Basic Studies Division. We will be accepting new students to the English as a Second Language (ESL), Adult Basic Education (ABE), and General Education Development (GED) programs for Fall Quarter 2013 on August 27th, 2013.
New students must:
- Register for classes before the quarter starts. Bring your picture ID and sign up in room BE3122.
- Pay your tuition. All students must pay $25 tuition.
- Register for orientation. Orientations begin 1-2 weeks after the sign up day.
- Attend your assigned orientation. The orientation is 4 days long, 3 hours each day and includes program information, assessments, testing, goal setting, and registering for core classes.
- Attend your classes.
Current students must:
- Register for classes on the last day of the quarter with your teacher.
- Pay your tuition. All students must pay $25 tuition.

Note: In the English as a Second Language (ESL) program, we serve immigrants and refugees only. Individuals with F, M, B, Student, or J visas are not eligible for Basic & Transitional Studies.
We also offer classes which are designed for the high school graduate who needs to brush up on reading, writing, and math skills before applying to a community or technical college. Skills emphasized will help students prepare for any placement test such as the COMPASS.
